Responsibilities:
- Provide respiratory therapy services to patients in various settings, including pediatrics, ICU, and acute care.
- Assess and evaluate patients' respiratory needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, bronchodilator therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatment, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques.
- Document patient information, treatment plans, and progress in medical records.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to respiratory therapy.
- Proficient in operating and troubleshooting respiratory equipment, including ventilators.
- Ability to provide respiratory therapy in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Excellent understanding of anatomy and physiology related to the respiratory system.
- Experience in critical care settings is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
High school diploma or GED
Permanently licensed by the Idaho State Board of Medicine as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC); If registry eligible, must obtain registry within one (1)-year of hire date
2-years' experience in the adult critical care setting within the last 5-years; ICU experience within the last 3-years
BLS
PALS - completed within three (3)-months of hire date
ACLS - completed within three (3)-months of hire date
NRP - completed within one (1)-year of hire date
